A man will stand trial charged with attempted murder by pushing a woman out a second-floor window.

John McEnhill, 44, is accused of assaulting Michelle Auld at a flat in Ayr in January.

Prosecutors claim McEnhill refused to let Miss Auld leave a flat, seized her by the body, pushed and pulled her and repeatedly slapped her on the head.

He is then alleged to have pushed Miss Auld out the window to her severe injury, permanent impairment and danger of life.

McEnhill’s final charge is conducting himself in a disorderly manner, shout and commit breach of the peace in November last year.

A four day trial in June next year was set by judge Lady Scott at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday.

McEnhill, also of Ayr, pleaded not guilty and was released on bail.
