Armed robbery probe as staff left 'frightened' by raid
A man presented a weapon at staff before stealing a five figure sum of cash being delivered to a bank.
Police have launched an investigation after an armed robbery outside a bank in Glasgow.
A man presented a weapon at staff before stealing a five figure sum of cash, which was being delivered to a bank on Smithycroft Road in Riddrie, shortly before 11.15am on Tuesday.
The man, who was wearing dark clothing, made off from the scene in a dark coloured vehicle. Nobody was injured.
Officers said the incident was a "frightening experience" for the employees and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Detective inspector Clark Hill said: "While no one was injured, this was a frightening experience for all of the staff working at the bank and the surrounding premises.
"We would urge anyone who was in the area around Smithycroft Road and Lethamhill Road this morning to let us know if you think you may have seen anything which could help our investigation.
"I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area and may have dashcam footage to check this and pass on anything of note."
