Family growing 'increasingly concerned' for missing man
Russell Calder, 59, disappeared after leaving his home in Hamilton on Wednesday morning.
The family of a missing man are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
Russell Calder, 59, disappeared on Wednesday after leaving his home in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, at around 9.45am.
He was later spotted on CCTV at 10.02am in the town's Lorne Street.
When he failed to return home that day, his family reported him missing to the police.
Mr Calder does not drive and usually walks everywhere.
He has a keen interest in books and record shops. He also visits charity stores in the Hamilton and Glasgow areas and also shops around the Douglas Park Retail area in Hamilton.
Officers are checking CCTV footage for any additional information and are continuing to speak to family and friends for any detail which could assist the inquiry.
Inspector Brenda Bradley said: "It's out of character for Russell not to be in touch with his family and they are growing increasingly concerned for him.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Russell or anyone who has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts to contact us.
"I would also ask anyone with dashcams to review their footage as they may have unwittingly captured images of Russell and not be aware of it.
"If anyone has any information, please do contact us."
