Manhunt launched after driver slashed in daylight attack
A black Citroen DS5 used in the crime was later found by police burnt out.
A manhunt is underway after a driver was slashed as he got out of his car in East Dunbartonshire.
The 30-year-old man was attacked in Reid Avenue, Bearsden, on Tuesday morning at around 9am.
A male suspect was spotted getting out of a black car before seriously assaulting his victim.
The vehicle - a black Citroen DS5 with the registration number KU63 AUH - had been stolen from Glasgow and was later found burnt out in Duntocher, West Dunbartonshire, 15 minutes after the attack took place.
Emergency services were called and the injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was treated for lacerations. He has since been released.
Police are now appealing for information.
The suspect is described as white, around 30-years-old, and is of medium build with short dark scruffy hair. He was also wearing dark-coloured clothing.
Detective constable Stephen Cooke said: "Detectives are currently working to establish the motive for this attack and trace the man responsible.
"The vehicle involved was stolen from the Maryhill area on August 28 and I would appeal to anyone who has seen the Citroen DS5 bearing that registration number from when it was stolen back in August until Tuesday morning, when the attack took place."
