A major fast food chain is to open its first drive-thru restaurant in Scotland.

Taco Bell will welcome diners to its new Mexican-inspired restaurant at Riverway Retail Park in Irvine, North Ayrshire, on Tuesday, December 11.

Fans of the Taco Bell offering will be able to dine out in the 48 seat drive-thru restaurant and experience the classic menu enjoyed by people in stores around the UK.

From burritos to tacos and quesadillas, there are plenty of delicious foods on offer, whether you're a meat eater or a vegetarian.

The new restaurant will bring 35 new jobs to the area with six management positions available.

Bob Miller, Taco Bell Irvine store manager, said: "We're really pleased to be opening a Taco Bell in Irvine and making history with our first drive-thru restaurant in Scotland.

"We're delighted to focus our investment in this area - Riverway Retail Park has a high footfall of those looking for entertainment and of course a bite to eat, providing us with the perfect spot to expand our portfolio in the area.

"We look forward to welcoming even more Taco Bell fans and first-timers through our doors."

The new store opening will be the 33rd Taco Bell restaurant to open in the UK as part of its expansion plan from the United States.
