The death of a pensioner could be linked to the alleged murder of another man in a flat.

Officers found the body of a 75-year-old man in Columba Court in Oban.

The discovery on Monday is being linked to the alleged murder of Martyn Smith, whose body was also found.

Police are investigating the possibility of the deaths being linked.

A spokeswoman said: "At around 8pm on Monday, the body of a 75-year-old man was found within a flat in Columba Court.

"Following a post-mortem examination his death is now being treated as suspicious. Inquiries are ongoing.

"One line of inquiry is that it may be linked to the death of Martyn Smith."

Oskars Rancevs, 32, has been accused of Mr Smith's murder.
