Bottles and chairs were thrown during a brawl involving 70 football fans after the Rangers v Wigan match.

The fight, which is understood to have mainly involved Wigan fans, happened near Glasgow Central Station at 6.40pm on Sunday.

In a video, supporters appear to be throwing chairs and wooden boards while punches are also exchanged outside the Alpen Lodge on Hope Street.

Two men were assaulted in the brawl, which came shortly after Rangers defeated Wigan 3-0 in a friendly.

No one was arrested after the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called at 6.40pm to a large scale disturbance outside Glasgow Central Station on Hope Street near Argyle Street.

"Two men were assaulted and received medical treatment following the disturbance.

"They were treated for minor injuries.

"Officers are liaising with British Transport Police colleagues and enquiries are continuing."
