Police are growing increasingly concerned for a missing man who has not been seen for four days.

David Ross, 27, was last seen on Sunday at 8pm, but is believed to have left his home on Guthrie Street, Glasgow, between 8am and 9am on Monday.

Concerns were raised after he did not turn up for work and no one has heard from him.

He is white, 5ft 8in, of slim build with brown eyes, a fair complexion, stubble and shaved auburn hair.

Mr Ross also has a tattoo which has "dad" on the right hand side of his neck.

He is believed to be wearing either red or black shorts, black socks and black trainers, and has a black Nike rucksack and a black mountain bike with him.

Police constable Darren Dickson said: "As time passes we are becoming increasingly concerned for David, who has never gone missing before.

"Concern was raised when he did not turn up for work and nobody had heard from him.

"We know he has his phone with him and have reason to believe he may have travelled to Ayrshire.

"Officers have been checking CCTV, speaking to friends and family and have also had partner agencies supporting searches in Ayrshire, as well as Glasgow.

"We would appeal to anyone who knows of his whereabouts or has seen anyone matching his description to come forward and contact us.

"We would also ask anyone who may have seen an abandoned black mountain bike to let us know.

"He has a very distinctive tattoo on his neck and we would hope this would have been memorable for people who may have seen him."

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101.
