Trains stopped running around 5.30pm following the power cut at Bridge Street.
Commuters faced delays as they seek alteranbte transport to their destinations.
A tweet from the GLASubway Travel account read: "All Subway services currently suspended due to a power failure in Bridge Street area of the city."
Services resumed as normal from around 6.30pm.
