TRNSMT has officially kicked off for 2018.

Today, around 140,000 fans will descend on Glasgow Green for the first weekend for the music festival.

Friday nights headliners Stereophonics will close out the festival, supported by James Bay, The Script and Jessie J.

Temperatures are expected to sizzle and music fans have been advised to stay hydrated this weekend.

Geoff Ellis of organisers DF Concerts said the concert plans to stay in Glasgow for as long as the city will have them.

He added: "I can guarantee it will never become a camping festival - the space is just too small for what you need.

"There's nowhere to put the tents or a car park, so it'll never become that.

"But we want to stay in Glasgow - as long as Glasgow will have us, we'll stay."

The typical mud soaked fields will not be a scene at TRNSMT this weekend, with temperatures in the high 20s expected.

Buying a pint at the festival will set you back around £5, while spirits and mix will cost around £6.

For those prosecco lovers, a bottle will cost you £35.

Soft drink prices start at £3.
