Centre praised for having strong sense of community
Inspectors gave positive feedback from their visit to Girvan Early Years Centre.
An early years centre in South Ayrshire has been praised for having a strong sense of community.
A team of inspectors from Education Scotland visited Girvan Early Years Centre and talked to parents, carers, managers and staff.
The inspectors reported that the centre had a strong sense of community and children and families feel supported.
It was also revealed that pupils are encouraged to play alongside developing their literacy and numeracy skills, which has a positive impact on their health and wellbeing.
Councillor William Grant said: "The report is extremely positive and highlights the work undertaken by staff and partners to ensure children are well nurtured and supported while they take their very first steps on the learning ladder.
"It's clear the well-resourced centre is delivering learning in an inclusive environment and I'm sure that parents and carers will be delighted with the report as we work to ensure every child has the best possible start in life."
