South Ayrshire Council has promised "something for everyone" at this year's Armed Forces Day.
The event is being held alongside Pipes in the Park at the annual Holy Fair on Ayr Low Green from noon till 4pm on Saturday.
Visitors to the fair will be able to view military attractions, listen to a pipe band contest and take part in a children's dog show.
The event will also feature fairground attractions, stalls and food outlets and a highland games "fling zone" where fairgoers are invited to test their skills at the shot putt, caber toss, welly throw and haggis hurling.
For the first time, the Scottish Beach Volleyball Tour will make an appearance at the fair. Men's and women's teams will face off against each other on the beach throughout the afternoon.
Proceedings will get started with the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag at 11.45am.
