Morning ferries cancelled ahead of Storm Hector chaos
CalMac's morning ferries from Brodick and Ardrossan have been cancelled.
CalMac ferries have cancelled Thursday morning ferries ahead of the arrival of Storm Hector.
The ferry operator cancelled three morning services from Brodick and Ardrossan on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of what is expected to be "widespread disruption".
CalMac also said all other sailings are on yellow alert and "may be liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice".
Due to weather conditions, sailings later on Thursday may be liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.
Due to weather conditions, the following sailings are cancelled: - From Brodick: 7am, 8.20am and 9.45am. From Ardrossan: 7am, 8.20am and 11.05am.
All other sailings are on yellow alert and may be liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.
The weather system is expected to bring heavy showers and gusts of up to 70mph to Scotland on Thursday, causing travel disruption and potential damage to trees.
CalMac's director of service delivery, David Gibson, said: "As always when stormy weather is forecast, people should check their travel arrangements before leaving the house.
"Our website and social media feeds will be updated constantly as the latest information becomes available.
'With such a broad forecast it is difficult to pin down individual routes that will be affected the most, however, we expect significant disruption tomorrow morning."
