Scottish SPCA thanks Ayrshire for volunteering efforts
The charity has specifically thanked a woman who has volunteered for 20 years.
The Scottish SPCA is celebrating volunteers' week by giving thanks to its Ayrshire volunteers.
In particular, Scotland's animal welfare charity has highlighted the work of a local South Ayrshire volunteer.
Morag Mathieson has been volunteering with the charity for over 20 years as chair of the South Ayrshire supporter group.
Over the last two decades, Ms Mathieson has fundraised in many different ways, like abseiling off the Falkirk Wheel.
Chief executive Kirsteen Campbell said: "Volunteers' week gives us all the opportunity to pause and reflect on the huge contribution made by our volunteers across the length and breadth of the country.
"Morag's contribution has been invaluable! It's quite simply overwhelming that she's now been volunteering at the Society for over 20 years and is a true testament to her passion for helping animals.
"Her decision to take part in the Falkirk Wheel abseil earlier this year was phenomenal.
"She raised an amazing £1336.50 in addition to all the wonderful volunteer work she already takes part in.
"Volunteers like Morag really do help save lives - our entire team, including all our furry, feathered and scaled friends are so grateful for their support."
