Man treated for facial injury after city street attack
The 20-year-old was walking with two friends on Maryhill Road when he was assaulted.
A man received hospital treatment for his injuries after being attacked in Glasgow, police have said.
The 20-year-old was walking with two friends on Maryhill Road near Dunard Street when he became involved in an altercation with another man on Sunday morning shortly after midnight.
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he received treatment for a head injury.
Officers have been examining CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The suspect is described as wearing a black t-shirt and bright coloured shorts. He was with a woman who was wearing white trousers and a black t-shirt.
Police said the pair were walking a dog when the incident took place.
Detective constable Andrew Barbour said: "The motive for this attack is unknown.
"From enquiries carried out so far, the area was heavily populated around the time of the incident and I am appealing to people were in the area at the time.
"In particular, I am asking the two men who were in the company of the injured male to contact us. I am also asking any motorists who were affected when the disturbance spilled onto the roadway to get in touch.
"It's possible you saw or noticed something which could assist our investigation.
"Any small piece of information could prove significant so please do pass it on."
