A taster session to bring the huge range of summer events taking place across South Ayrshire is being held at the Citadel in Ayr.

The event, organised by the South Ayrshire Council led Youth Strategy multi-agency group, is being held on Saturday between 11am and 2pm.

Taking place as part of the Year of Young People, the day is being part funded by £2000 from the Youthlink Cashback scheme, which redirects the proceeds of crime to benefit Scotland's youngsters.

A range of stalls and taster indoor and outdoor activities will be on offer including free swimming between 11-2pm, with slot times available for inflatables and floats.

Other activities include taster sessions in athletics, gymnastic displays, a silent disco, footgolf and the chance to try out electric bikes.

Less strenuous activities include a story corner, a silent disco, and animal petting courtesy of Mobile petting zoo Bunny Luv.

Partners hosting stalls at the event include Active Schools; South Ayrshire Council's sports and leisure, and libraries, Lochside Missions, South Ayrshire Young Scot, and the South Ayrshire Youth Forum.
