Probe after three cars belonging to taxi firm set on fire
The vehicles, all yellow Skodas, were targeted between 12.30am and 1am on Monday.
Police are appealing for information after three cars belonging to a taxi firm were set on fire.
The vehicles, all yellow Skodas, were targeted between 12.30am and 1am on Monday in Glasgow and South Lanarkshire.
Police said the first car was set alight near Western Road in Cambuslang and the second on East Kilbride Road in Rutherglen.
The third car was set on fire in Glasgow's Castlemilk Road near the Croft Pub.
No-one was in the vehicles, which were used to advertise a taxi company.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective constable Paul Galligan said: "These vehicles are used to advertise a taxi firm and we believe they have been specifically targeted.
"However, the reason why they have been targeted is unknown. We need to establish exactly what has happened and why.
"I am appealing to local people in these areas to think back and consider if they noticed anything a little odd or suspicious.
"Any small detail could assist us in establishing why this has happened and lead us to tracing whoever is responsible."
