Four people were injured after the ceiling of a Paisley nightclub caved in on top of them during the early hours of Monday morning.

Police and ambulance services were called to New Street club Fantoosh and two people were taken directly to hospital from the scene.

The club was evacuated after a section of the ceiling collapsed over the VIP area of the club.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of a section of ceiling collapsing at Fantoosh licensed premises at around 2:15am.

"Four people were injured, two were taken to hospital at the scene and treated for minor injuries.

No further details were made available on injuries, but no-one is believed to be serious.
