Progress for children's services in South Ayrshire
The Care Inspectorate said there had been good progress in five areas of concern from 2016.
Children's services in South Ayrshire have significantly improved in the past two years, a review has found.
The Care Inspectorate said there had been very good progress across five areas identified in a 2016 report.
Improvements had been made in leadership and collaboration, planning and early intervention.
Inspectors also found fewer 11-15-year-olds were being accommodated away from home and "considerable improvements" had been made in service planning.
As a result, inspectors have agreed that no further review work is required in relation to the 2016 report.
Councillor Douglas Campbell said the progress report confirmed the council's services for young people were moving in the right direction.
He added: "This report makes for very positive reading and is testament to the efforts of the council, Health and Social Care Partnership and our community planning partners.
"Together, we are committed to ensuring our children and young people have the best possible start in life and the support and opportunities to reach their full potential - especially the most vulnerable children and young people."
