Aileen Crichton, based at Crosshouse Hospital, will be among the guests at the royal wedding on May 19, representing WellChild, which Prince Harry is patron of.
Ms Crichton has been an advanced paediatric nurse practitioner since 2010, helping to support families of seriously ill children with long term health problems return home with the medical care they need.
Among the 2640 nominated people to be invited into the grounds of Windsor Castle on the day of the wedding, there will be 40 representatives from WellChild.
Ms Crichton said: "I'm very excited and really looking forward to attending and to meeting some of the wonderful families supported elsewhere by WellChild who will also be there.
"I feel quite privileged to have this opportunity and I'm praying we get a nice day."
