Families explore why play is important in child development
East Ayrshire families were given tips on speech, play, food and other services.
Parents and carers had the chance to sit down with other parents and organisations and explore why play is important for their child's development.
Run by the play and early intervention team from Vibrant Communities, 30 East Ayrshire families were given simple tips to support the positive development of their child's speech.
They were also given taster sessions for families to try a variety of school meals from the catering team at St Joseph's Academy.
Councillor Claire Leitch said: "The parent play information day was really beneficial for parents, carers and for the children.
"The young ones had great fun with messy, creative play and activities while their parents and carers learned about the different types of services that are available, the importance of play and how to build play into their everyday routines."
The Scottish Book Trust, TESCO, Epilepsy Connection and Dean Castle Countryside Ranger Service also hosted stalls to provide information on services to families.
