Landmarks across Ayrshire will be switching off their lights to mark Earth Hour on Saturday night.

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) global initiative encourages people to turn off their lights for one hour to save carbon emissions and show a stand for action against climate change.

Alloway Kirk, the Auld Brig, the Wallace Tower and many more landmarks will be taking part in the event from 8.30pm.

As part of the event, Ayr Central will host their second annual Earth Fair with sustainable stalls.

Friends of Dundonald Castle, Friends of Fullarton and Friends of Troon Beaches are teaming up to clean up and share knowledge about how we can all help to save our planet.

Last year, nine million people took part in the Earth Hour campaign in the UK alone.
