Motorists face delays while busy truck road is resurfaced
The A77 south of Girvan will be closed from 8pm on Friday to 6am on Monday.
Motorists should expect delays this weekend while resurfacing work is carried out on part of a busy Ayrshire truck road.
Scotland TranServ began carrying out works on the A77 South of Ayr last week with a total of six projects to be completed over the next few months.
The entire project will see the resurfacing of approximately 16,000m2 of road surface.
While the second project is completed, the A77 south of Girvan will be closed from 8pm on Friday to 6am on Monday.
Scotland TranServ's Principal Engineer James McLean said: "We've been working in liaison with local authorities and key stakeholders, making it possible to programme these schemes closely together so that they can be carried out quickly, and completed ahead of the Easter holidays and wider tourist season.
"Due to the limited available road width of the A77 it will be necessary to close the trunk road to ensure the safety of our workers and of the travelling public.
"We have grouped these projects together to maximise the efficiency of these closures."
