Locals to vote for community groups at funding event
The event on Saturday urges locals to vote for their favourite community groups.
South Ayrshire residents are being encouraged to support local community groups at a funding event.
17 groups will display their ideas for community projects before a public vote at the drop-in event on Saturday.
The event is part of a drive to get people actively involved in local decision making.
Up to £40,000 is being made available from South Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, and Community Choices, with grants up to £5000.
At a previous event in South Carrick, the community voted to prioritise bids which support people with dementia, those living in isolation and people with poor mental health.
Girvan and South Carrick locality planning group's Decision Day will take place at Colmonell Primary School between 10.30am and 12pm on Saturday.
