Drivers face weeks of delays due to resurfacing projects
The first diversion will be in place on A77 at Kirkoswald on Monday for four nights.
Motorists are facing weeks of delays as Scotland TranServ prepares to start six resurfacing projects on the A77.
The first resurfacing project on the A77 south of Ayr will begin on Monday for four nights.
In order to complete the project safely, the A77 will be closed at Kirkoswald from 8pm each night until 6am the next morning, with diversions in place.
The entire project will see the resurfacing of approximately 16,000m2 of road surface.
Scotland TranServ's planned maintenance manager, Evan Ferguson, said: "Due to a sustained period of wet and freezing conditions we've experienced an unprecedented number of carriageway defects on the country's trunk roads.
"The A77 has been particularly affected by this prolonged wintry period.
"Transport Scotland has recently redirected budgets towards carrying out these essential road repairs, allowing Scotland TranServ to accelerate the construction of these major road maintenance schemes."
