Charity appeals to animal lovers for puppy food donations
The Ayr Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre is struggling to care for nine puppies.
Animal lovers in Ayrshire are being urged to donate puppy food as the Scottish SPCA struggles for demand.
The Ayr Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre is currently caring for nine puppies born in its care.
Scotland's animal welfare charity say they are hoping that "kind-hearted locals" will get behind their appeal.
Centre manager Marion Hainey said: "We're struggling to keep up with the demand for puppy food at the moment as we have nine lovely little pups who were born in our care.
"With all these little mouths to feed our supply of puppy food has very quickly run low. We are especially in need of puppy meat and also puppy complete dry food which is being soaked for them.
"We hope kind-hearted locals will get behind our appeal as it would make lots of puppies very happy."
