Fresh appeal after woman shot in neck at city office
A 47-year-old woman was targeted by a lone gunman as she worked in Glasgow during 2008.
Police have issued a fresh appeal for information over a shooting at a Glasgow office almost ten years ago.
A 47-year-old woman was shot in the neck by a lone gunman at a workplace on New City Road, in the city's Chinatown, on May 21, 2008.
The woman, who had been working as a financial adviser at the time, was found seriously injured around 40 minutes after being shot at 2pm.
She was treated for gunshot injuries in hospital and was later released.
Officers treated the shooting as an attempted murder, but despite more than nine years passing the man responsible has not been traced.
An artist's impression was released of a man seen in the area at the time.
Detectives have asked anyone who may know the culprit to "search their conscience" and come forward.
Detective inspector Peter Sharp of City Centre Police Office said: "Although over nine years has passed since this incident, all new lines of enquiry will be vigorously pursued, and we would urge anyone who hold information that may assist this attempted murder investigation to now come forward to police.
"I am convinced that someone has information regarding who is responsible for this attempted murder, and for some reason has not yet come forward to police.
"This may be due to misplayed loyalty or fear of reprisal."
He continued: "I would ask anyone in that position to look to their conscience and consider the anguish that the victim has gone through these past nine years.
"Please do the right thing and come forward.
"Any information you give can be treated in confidence and those with concerns can also phone Crimestoppers."
Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland through 101 or Crimestoppers through 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
