Almost £250m to be invested into North Ayrshire schools
The budget plans include a brand new £9.65m school in Montgomerie Park in Irvine.
Young people across North Ayrshire are set to benefit from almost £250m being invested into local schools.
The plans include a brand new £9.65m school in Montgomerie Park in Irvine, along with a new £9.6m school to replace the existing Moorpark Primary.
There are also plans to create a £25m additional support needs school in Stevenson and a £5.7m residential and respite unit for children.
Annick Primary School in Irvine is to have a £2.95m redevelopment to create more classrooms, a new PE facilitiy and expanded early years provision.
Improvement works will also be made at Auchenharvie Academy, Kilwinning Academy and Irvine Royal Academy.
Councillor Joe Cullinane said: "I think it's fitting that this year - the Year of Young People - we're making a big commitment to our children and their education.
"We want to give our young people the chance to reach their potential - by investing in our school estate, we are making an investment in their future."
