Maybole Golf Course and public toilets saved from cuts
The facilities were under threat in the upcoming budget setting for 2018/19.
Maybole Golf Course and all public toilets in South Ayrshire have been saved after a public outcry.
In December it was announced they were under risk as part of the budget proposals for 2018/19 in a bid to bridge an anticipated £17m funding gap.
However, during the course of a "balancing the budget" consultation, residents came out against these closures, and South Ayrshire Council took the feedback forward.
Other facilities no longer being considered in the cuts are Maybole recycling centre and Maybole and Prestwick customer service centres.
The council will set its budget for 2018/19 on Thursday.
Announcing these changes, councillors William Grant and Brian Connolly said: "Thanks to the impressive feedback received, combined with the increased funding settlement from the Scottish Government, we can give the good news that Maybole golf course, recycling centre and customer service centre will all remain in the town.
"These are clearly much-needed resources that not only provide easy access to Council services, but also support a better quality of life for the local community."
