Police have launched an investigation after a BMW Mini was stolen and then set on fire in Glasgow.

At around 5.45pm on Thursday officers were alerted to a silver Mini being on fire on Muckcroft Road.

Enquiries revealed that the car had been stolen from the Anniesland area on February 16 or the early hours of February 17.

Police are looking for two men that were seen near to the scene of the fire.

Constable Katrina Keogh said: "Thankfully no-one was injured during this reckless act however it is vital that we track down the person or persons responsible.

"Two men were seen near to the scene of the fire and they left in a grey Volkswagen Golf car as the BMW car was ablaze.

"I urge anyone who saw these men hanging around the area to contact police immediately.

"We also know that there would have been several vehicles travelling in both directions in Muckcroft Rd at this time and I ask these motorists with dash cam footage to come forward also."
