Large waves cause rail disruption for Ayrshire commuters

Large waves caused disruption on ScotRail services between Glasgow central and Largs on Tuesday.

Delays were also caused by an electrical supply failure which was restored within an hour with services resuming from from 2.30pm.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: "Services between Glasgow Central, Largs and Ardrossan are starting to return to normal now as the tide had receded and weather conditions have improved at Saltcoats."
Travellers on the Glasgow central to Kilmarnock line also experienced delays while urgent repairs were carried out at Stranraer station's roof.
