A former RAF pilot who flew Wellington Bombers in World War 2 is celebrating his 100th birthday.
Flight lieutenant Harry Richardson marked the occasion at the RAFA club in Prestwick where he has been a member since 1948.
In 1940, he joined the Royal Air Force and trained as a pilot initially flying Tiger Moths.
He spent his wartime service as a member of two squadrons, and went on to fly Liberators with 159 Squadron and Wellington Squadron Bombers with 149 Squadron.
After the war he volunteered in the Royal Air Force in India until 1947, and then joined the Civil Aviation Authority at Prestwick.
South Ayrshire provost, Helen Moonie, joined Mr Richardson to mark the milestone birthday.
