First transport summit held to discuss economic growth
The councils met with Transport Scotland for workshops to develop new plans.
Ayrshire's first transport summit was held in Kilmarnock on Friday with hopes to improve economic growth in the area.
All three local councils, North, South and East Ayrshire, met with Transport Scotland for workshops to develop new infrastructure plans.
The results will feed into discussions of a wider Ayrshire growth deal.
Project director for the Ayrshire Growth Deal, Patrick Wiggins, said: "The Ayrshire growth deal is a set of major investments in Ayrshire's business infrastructure and there are real opportunities.
"We want it to work well and we want to make sure we have the transport connections so that business can access it and people can access employment.
"We want to make sure that the great opportunities that we have in Ayrshire are realised and we get the economic benefits we deserve."
