Finalists for the North Ayrshire Provost's Civic Pride Awards 2018 have been announced.

Residents were able to nominate an individual or group that have made a difference to their local community.

Provost Ian Clarkson and his team of judges have now selected three finalists in each of the five categories: young citizen of the year, citizen of the year, arts and culture and sports.

The public have until March 8 to vote for a winner in each of the group.

Provost Clarkson said: "Once again, we have received a fantastic number of nominations.

"The calibre was exceptionally high and the panel had a really tough task to narrow the field down to just three finalists for each category.

"I would like to thank my fellow judges for helping to decide on our finalists and I'm sure I speak for all of them when I say it was a very humbling experience to read about all the great work carried out by people and groups across North Ayrshire.

"Now, it's up to the public to find their winners amongst all these amazing finalists and I want to wish all of them the very best of luck."

Finalists will be invited to attend the provost's Civic Pride Awards Charity Dinner on March 16 when the winners will be announced.
