Motorists face disruption on the A77 while the Adamton bridge joints are installed.

The southbound carriageway will be closed to remove and replace the asphaltic bridge joints after the recent resurfacing works.

Local diversions will be in place and the northbound carriageway will remain unaffected.

The road will be closed from 8pm on Thursday until 6am on Friday, and again from Friday night into Saturday morning.

Scotland TranServ's assistant engineer, Jane Maclennan, said: "We have worked in consultation with Police Scotland, local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule the works for a period of minimal disruption to local communities and the travelling public.

"Working overnight will help to reduce the impact on the travelling public."
