
Pensioner dies in hospital after fire rips through house
The 92-year-old man was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.
A pensioner has died after a fire ripped through his home in Renfrewshire.
At around 5pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to a report of a blaze on a property in Russell Place, Linwood.
Three appliances were used to put out the fire.
A 92-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment but died a short time later.
A police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a 92-year-old man has died following a fire in Linwood.
"Emergency services were called at around 5pm on Sunday, February 4 to the report of a fire.
"Inquiries are underway, however the fire is not believed to be suspicious."
