Students have been evacuated from a college in Glasgow after a gas leak.

Fire crews were called to the Anniesland campus of Glasgow Clyde College following the alert on Thursday morning.

Students have been evacuated and the college is now closed.

It is expected to reopen on Friday.

A spokeswoman said: "Due to a low level gas leak at Anniesland campus, the building has been evacuated on the advice of the fire service.

"The Anniesland campus will be closed for the remainder of Thursday and tonight's evening classes are cancelled.

"Contractors are working on this and the campus should be open as usual tomorrow."
