Community groups across Scotland have been awarded £6m in funding to get people learning new skills.
The money from the Big Lottery Fund will go to 24 groups to deliver a range of activities to boost creativity, confidence and self-esteem.
Awards include language workshops in Glasgow for older people fighting dementia and a project on Skye to teach people to grow their own food.
Chairwoman for the Big Lottery Fund Scotland, Maureen McGinn, said: "Today's £6m injection of funding will create many new opportunities for people across Scotland to come together, learn and share skills.
"Thousands of Scots will have a stimulating New Year by being able to pursue a creative activity, acquire new skills such as growing and cooking or be able to take up volunteering opportunities."
