A worker was threatened as two robbers raided a newsagents.

The men then made off with more than £100, as well as cigarettes and tobacco.

They entered Neville's Newsagents in Carnwath, Wishaw, at around 5.30am on Wednesday, January 10.

It is possible that the men made off in a silver car.

Detective sergeant Erin Renwick said: "The incident occurred early yesterday morning, however, there may have been people on their way to work or walking their dog around the time of the crime.

"They may have noticed or see something and thought nothing of it, but in light of the robbery, what they saw or noticed could be significant and I would ask them and anyone else who was in the vicinity yesterday morning to contact us."

Both suspects are described as being around 5ft 8in to 6ft, of slim build, with local accents. They were wearing gloves and had scarves covering their faces.

One of the suspects was wearing navy Adidas tracksuit trousers and a navy waterproof jacket, the other was dressed in black.
