Kilmarnock baker in league of its own for football pies

A baker from Kilmarnock has collected a top award for their football pies.
Brownings the Bakers came out top in the football pie or savoy category at the World Scotch Pie Championship.
Its Steak & Rabbie's Ale Pie sold at Ayr United matches won the diamond award.
One of the judges, Richard Tearle, said: "In winning this award you have demonstrated a high level of craftsmanship and skill, congratulations.
"Your customers will see this as confirmation that they are top of the league when it comes to refreshments. Well done, keep up the good work."
James Pirie & Son, of Blairgowrie in Perthshire, was named overall World Champion at the awards on Tuesday.
A total of 80 butchers entered more than 400 pies, sausage rolls, bridies, savouries and apple pies into the competition hosted in Cumbernauld.
Craig McPhie, president of Scottish Bakers, said: "Once again we have brought together the best pies and baked goods in the land and today we can really celebrate the achievement of our hard working butchers and bakers."
