Campaigners and council leader meet to discuss A77 issues
The action group are campaigning to see significant improvements on the A77.
Campaigners have high hopes of improving the A77 after a meeting with South Ayrshire Council's leader.
The A77 Action Group met Douglas Campbell to share ideas on how to improve the stretch of road.
He shared their concerns and agreed to help push their plans forward, including getting more funding and working with Dumfries and Galloway Council.
John Campbell became a long time campaigner after serving as a fire-fighter and seeing the fatalities and damage that happens on the road.
He said: "The meeting went well - we are going to try to get an economic report out as the reports for the road currently stand from March 2015.
"Billions of pounds in export go up and down that road so it's important it's looked after and paid attention to. There are also so many fatalities on it so it's a matter of safety as well.
"Lack of interest and improvement is the real problem - this is what we put to Mr Campbell and he seemed enthusiastic and will start to try to put plans in motion as soon as possible."
