Irvine Royal Academy is to partially open on Wednesday after being closed for two days due to plumbing issues.

The secondary school was closed on Monday after reporting problems with the cold water supply, and remained closed on Tuesday while they tried to fix the problem.

North Ayrshire Council has now announced on Twitter that the school will open to S4, S5, S6 and all teaching staff.

The parent council meeting that was scheduled for this week has also been postponed until January 17.

Updates on when the school will fully open will be posted on North Ayrshire's social media pages.
