More than £5000 has been raised by employees of Glasgow Prestwick Airport for local charity Cash for Kids.

Instead of supporting different charities throughout the year, the airport asked for employees who regularly donate to select one charity to support.

Cash for Kids supports children in Ayrshire who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.

The money has been raised through events such as tombola stalls, balls and Christmas jumper days.

Charity manager at Cash for Kids Lynne Bennett said: "Christmas is a magical time for families, especially kids, but for many children Christmas is a luxury that parents are unable to afford.

"This amazing donation we have received today will be put towards our campaign Mission Christmas.

"This campaign helps families bring back the Christmas magic."
