Gravity speed racing duo celebrate new world records
The Ayrshire team raced their custom-built gravity speed bike at an international event.
A gravity speed racing team from Ayrshire are celebrating breaking three world records at a major international gravity racing event in Canada.
Paul Janson and Ian Rooney, known as Team Rooket, took part in World Gravity Speed Association (WGSA) Records event in Les Eboulements, Quebec in October this year.
The pair raced their custom-built gravity speed bike with no engine and broke the Unlimited Speed Bike Non-Faired record by reaching a speed of 71.31mph.
They then went on to smash the current record in the L'Ultime Descente Speed Challenge, which had not been beaten in 19 years, by reaching 71.01 mph.
Mr Janson became the first racer to set two separate class world records on the same day at the event.
He said: "We have both been involved in cars since we were boys and motorbike and this was something else to get an adrenaline rush with.
"There's nothing else like this so we had to go and do this.
"Being an invitation only event with 60 competitors from throughout the world at all downhill events, it was awesome, you can't get any better."
