Cannabis plants worth £600,000 have been seized as part of an intelligence-led police operation.

A 45 year-old man was arrested and detained in connection with the recovery, which happened after officers searched a building on Fielden Street in the east end of Glasgow, last Friday.

A full report was sent to the procurator fiscal.

Detective inspector Fergus Hutcheson from Greater Glasgow Division said: "This recovery clearly demonstrates our determination to crack down on drugs in our local communities throughout Glasgow.

"We are always grateful for any information the public can give us, and would ask anyone with information about drug dealing in their local area to contact their local police office through 101.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained."
