Residents urged to help shape future of communities
People can get involved and help influence developments in their communities.
A ten-week consultation to give people the chance to help influence developments in their communities has been launched.
The consultation is focused on South Ayrshire Council's main issues report and runs between November 20 and January 31, 2018.
The report is the first formal consultation for the local development plan, which will include information on where developments should and should not take place and will act as a guide for the next five to ten years.
It will cover all land uses including housing, transport, business and industry, tourism, coastal development and protection, green belt, renewable energy, office development, waste and woodland.
Councillor Brian McGinley said: "We're committed to making lives better for people in South Ayrshire and part of that process involves finding out what people want to see developed in the years ahead.
"This consultation will help inform the types of development that are allowed as well as the location, so if you have strong views on what you think should and shouldn't be allowed we want to hear from you.
"I'd urge anyone with an interest in their local community to get involved and let us know what you think."
The deadline for comments, at meetings or online, is January 31.
