Kilmarnock will host its first Comic Con this weekend at the Grand Hall and the Dick Institute.

The guests at Killie Comic Con will include famous comic and graphic novel writers and artists such as Alan Grant, Al Ewing, Tom Foster and David Baillie.

Wresting star Grado will also make an appearance alongside Rony Bridges from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In addition, there will be workshops, talks, quizzes, activities.

Organiser Ian Bonar, of Big Glasgow Comic Page, said: "We're really looking forward to the Killie event.

"We've got some great talks with some iconic names from the world of comics, as well as workshops on everything from making balloon superheroes to special effects make up, library sessions for young kids, a mobile cinema and Spy-Quest.

"As well as the events, there will also be some recognisable characters such as Batman, Iron Man and Spider-Man, and if you come along in costume you could win a prize.

"It's a great time for Comic Con, with superhero and fantasy TV shows and films such as Star Wars, Wonder Woman, Thor and Game of Thrones now very firmly in the mainstream."

The convention takes place on Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
