NHS Ayrshire and Arran A&E waiting times target missed
Almost one in ten patients had to wait longer than four hours for treatment.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran has one of the longest accident and emergency (A&E) waiting times in Scotland, newly released figures show.
The region's health board failed to ensure 95% of patients were admitted, discharged or transferred within four hours of arrival at hospital.
Only 91% of patients within Ayrshire and Arran were treated within the time limit during September.
Across the country, the Scotland's health boards averaged just 93.5%.
On average, patients in the Western Isles were treated the fastest with 99.3% being seen within four hours.
