A deaf pensioner has been seriously injured by robbers in a "sickening attack".
Ian McGregor, 74, was walking in Springburn, Glasgow, when he was assaulted at 6.40pm on Tuesday.
He was pulled to the ground by two men at the junction of Valleyfield Street and Flemington Street before one of them attacked him.
The other then stole a black leather jacket he had bought from Blitz.
They also stole computer supplies he had just bought from John Lewis and cash before running towards Atlas Road.
Mr McGregor was taken to Glasgow Royal Inifrmary with head and facial injuries.
Officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries while also looking at CCTV.
Detective constable Scott Spinks said: "This was a sickening attack on this elderly man who bravely tried to fight off these two men, and has been left badly injured.
"He was simply making his way back to his home after doing some shopping."
