Police have identified a teenager who died after being hit by a train in Glasgow.

The 16 year-old, who has not been named, was killed at Hillfoot Station around 8.15pm on Friday night.

British Transport Police confirmed he lived locally.

A BTP spokesman said: "His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

"A report will now be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Thanks to everyone who came forward with information and helped share the appeal."
